Brent Desruisseaux, Family Lawyer
Brent Desruisseaux is a lawyer with the firm’s Spectrum Family Law Group with a practice focused on family law issues such as guardianship and parenting, child and spousal support, and property rights.
Brent came to the Spectrum Family Law Group with a wide range of experience. As a law student, Brent volunteered his time with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre and Student Legal Services. After completing his Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta in 2014, he went on to successfully defend his clients’ rights at trial in a variety of family, criminal, and civil matters. He also enjoyed using his negotiation skills to secure separation agreements, settlements, and plea deals that protect his clients’ interests.

Mr. Janis is a family lawyer specializing in separations, child custody, child and spousal support and property division. Prior to joining Spectrum, he worked at a leading family law boutique firm in downtown Calgary where he practiced under some of the best family law lawyers in Western Canada. He has negotiated several family law settlements and has argued cases before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench.
Eric Lam, Family Lawyer
Eric has developed his extensive Family Law experience through years of practice at two Family Law firms in Edmonton prior to joining Spectrum. Through his practice, Eric has developed significant Court experience dealing with complex Family Law applications and trials. Many clients prefer to take a collaborative approach to their divorce or separation and can benefit from Eric’s experience in creating written legal agreements that work for both parties and help to clarify what is fair and reasonable.
