About Jeff Brunner

Jeff has been a practicing lawyer in Alberta since 2000, and currently works primarily out of the Cochrane office.

For the first 18 years of his practice, he worked as an insurance defence trial lawyer. Since 2018, Jeff has exclusively focused on family law, enjoying the challenges and successes of assisting families during their family transition.

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Ecology from the University of Calgary and worked in roles such as a Water Microbial Specialist with the City of Calgary and an Educational Interpreter at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller. He then obtained his law degree from the University of Manitoba.

As a lawyer, Jeff has appeared at numerous courts throughout Alberta, including Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Medicine Hat and Brooks.  He has also participated in numerous mediations and other Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms throughout the province of Alberta.

While Jeff is a third-generation Calgarian, he is well-travelled, having visited 4 different continents. He has white-water rafted on the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe, Africa, and snorkelled at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Jeff also has a singing background which includes singing in the Calgary Opera Chorus, the Young Canadians and even a disco band.

One of Jeff’s interests and passions is volunteering and serving his local community.  He has been a volunteer with Calgary Legal Guidance as a volunteer lawyer for over 25 years, and currently sits as a Board of Director with three non-profit organizations.   

On Jeff’s wish list is to travel with his daughter to Japan and Costa Rica.
