Dustin Patzer, Family Lawyer
Dustin was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. During his high school years, football was his passion. The highlight of his high school years was winning a National Championship as a member of Team Alberta and being named Defensive MVP of the tournament. Dustin then played four years of football for the Okanagan Sun in British Columbia earning two Conference All-star awards.
Dustin then turned his attention to education and began a Business degree in his home town of Lethbridge. His business degree had a requisite Business Law course. It was all history from there as Dustin knew that he had found his calling. Dustin attended law school at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Since being called to the bar as a member of the Law Society of Alberta Dustin has zealously advocated for his clients at all levels of court in Alberta. Dustin has extensive Family/Divorce law experience, as well as a background in civil litigation.
Dustin makes the move to join Spectrum Family Law to be closer to family, with his Sister, Brother-in-law, and only two nieces already residing in Edmonton. Dustin has been caught off guard by how much he enjoys being an Uncle and he is looking forward to being closer to his nieces.
When not advocating for his clients, Dustin enjoys Squash, futsal or indoor soccer, disc golf, the NFL, and fine dining.
Launa Schey, Family Lawyer
Originally from Saskatchewan, Launa began her post-secondary education in the field of psychology, earning a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) before continuing on to law school. Launa graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of law in 2003 and has been a practicing member of the Law Society of Alberta since 2004.
Launa’s passion for law stems from her overall goal of helping people. Whether it is helping her clients to close on their real estate transaction or make plans for the future by drafting wills and powers of attorney, Launa has the knowledge and experience to help individuals with all their contract-related needs. No stranger to the Courthouse, Launa has also represented clients in all levels of the Alberta Courts with regard to both civil lawsuits and family law matters such as divorce, child custody and access, child and spousal support, property division, guardianship, and paternity. Launa’s breadth of experience enables her to provide comprehensive legal advice on all the issues her clients face while also being adept at negotiation and strategy in litigation to get the best results possible.
When not practicing law, Launa enjoys spending time with her family and taking in the arts and festivals throughout the city.
Manroop Chatha, Family Lawyer

Originally from British Columbia, Manroop Chatha earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia. She worked in the private and public sectors before attending law school. Manroop graduated from the faculty of law at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC. After completing law school, Manroop went on to join a law firm in Delta, BC, focusing on family law. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and is happy to call Calgary home.
Manroop practices in the area of family law. Family law can have monumental outcomes for clients, so Manroop’s legal philosophy is guided by resolving legal matters in a sensible and efficient manner. She can counsel clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives, whether it’s matters of parenting time and access, property division, child support, spousal support, and more.
Outside the office, Manroop enjoys traveling, practicing mindfulness, and trying new restaurants in the city.
Cindy Marshall, Family Lawyer
Originally from Thompson, Manitoba, Cindy earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brandon University in 1999, and a law degree from the University of Moncton in 2003. Cindy was called to the Law Society of Manitoba in 2003, and the Law Society of Alberta in 2004. Cindy articled in the Federal Department of Justice Legal Excellence Program.
The sport of Bobsleigh brought Cindy to Calgary in 2004, where she was a member of the Women’s National Bobsleigh team from 2004-2009. Cindy competed in America’s Cup and World Cup circuits and was on of Canada’s spare brake women for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics. During this time, she also represented skeleton and bobsleigh athletes at the Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing. She later became a Bobsleigh Skeleton Administrative Tribunal panel member.
Cindy has been practicing family law in Calgary since 2004 and provides comprehensive family law services to clients in both English and French. Cindy is also a certified mediator and is a DRO (Dispute Resolution Officer) at the Calgary Courts Centre.
Cindy is a measured and experienced family law lawyer. She is able to efficiently distill complex legal issues and reach resolution through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation. Cindy has particular experience with LGBTQIA2S+ relationships, domestic violence, mental health & addictions, high conflict files, as well as representing children and youth in high conflict family law matters. She knows that separation or divorce are often one of the most difficult times in the lives of her clients, and she works with her clients to ensure that they are supported throughout the process.
Cindy is passionate about giving back to her community as a volunteer lawyer and mentor and has been a longstanding volunteer with Calgary Legal Guidance and the Canadian Bar Association. She is also a member of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, as well as the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Alberta. Cindy received the Alan D. Hunter Award from CLG in 2016, and the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Alberta in 2019.
Cindy provides legal representation in all areas of family law at the Alberta Provincial Court and Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, including: Divorce and Separation, Custody/Parenting, Child Welfare, Child Support, Children’s Counsel, Spousal Support, Property Division, Access/Parenting Time, Adult Interdependent Relationships, Wills and Estates, Restraining Orders, and Exclusive Possession Orders.
Outside of the office, Cindy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, biking, snowboarding, and trying out new recipes.
