About Lorena Villoria Guerra
Lorenais a dedicated and compassionate advocate who brings a strong academic background, diverse legal experience, and a deep commitment to client care to her practice. A proud double alumna of the University of Alberta, Lorena holds both a Bachelor of Science with Distinction and a Juris Doctor. Her academic journey reflects a lifelong commitment to learning, excellence, and meaningful service.
During her time in law school, Lorena became actively involved with Student Legal Services of Edmonton. She began her involvement as a volunteer and quickly took on increased responsibility, first as a Caseworker/Dayleader and later as the Family Project Coordinator. These roles offered Lorena invaluable, hands-on experience working with individuals and families navigating difficult legal circumstances. It was through this work that her passion for family law was ignited.
After graduating, Lorena completed her articles with Legal Aid Alberta, where she had the opportunity to practice in both family and criminal law. This experience gave her a well-rounded foundation in litigation and advocacy, while reinforcing her commitment to social justice and access to legal representation. She developed strong courtroom skills and has since appeared before both the Alberta Court of Justice and the Alberta Court of King’s Bench.
Lorena brings a unique perspective to her work as a lawyer. Born in Venezuela, she is fluent in both English and Spanish and is proud to offer bilingual legal services to better serve Alberta’s diverse communities. Her cross-cultural background helps her connect with clients from all walks of life and ensures they feel seen, heard, and supported throughout the legal process.
Outside of her legal practice, Lorena enjoys unwinding with a good book, listening to true crime podcasts, and spending quality time with her husband and their much-loved dog, Bacci.
