About Kristin Smith

Kristin was born and raised in Calgary, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts (with distinction, majoring in Psychology), from the University of Calgary. Kristin attended law school at the University of Alberta, where she was actively involved in the community with both the Law Students Association and Student Legal Services.

Kristin was called to the Alberta Bar in 2020. She has appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Alberta Court of King’s Bench. Kristin strives to provide strong advocacy and sound legal advice to her clients while guiding them through their family law matters. She recognizes that clients often come to her experiencing significant personal and financial hardship and has developed a practice that takes an empathetic and practical approach while seeking client-​centered, cost-effective solutions.

In her spare time, Kristin can be found at the dog park with her best friend Archie, on the golf course, or trying out new restaurants. Kristin volunteers with Calgary Legal Guidance in an effort to promote access to justice amongst society’s most vulnerable.
